Rp100.000

By Heru Joni Putra (author), George Fowler (translator)

Short Description:

Who is this Badrul Mustafa who might never die? And where is this “front”? Have battle lines been drawn in some cause?

Heru Joni Putra, the young Minangkabau poet who has made a name for himself as an enfant terrible of modern Indonesian literature has created in the person of Badrul Mustafa a new anti-hero. Badrul Mustafa’s Arabic-derived name may be understood as “the chosen one who brings enlightenment and the truth of religion.”

The Indonesian language edition of this collection was named Best Poetry Book of the Year by Tempo magazine in 2017. The book, now translated in its entirety by George A. Fowler, reveals the intellectual battle that is being fought by Indonesian authors against hypocrisy and oppression.
