By Dorothea Rosa Herliany

I have heard the same revolting love song hundreds of times: “i wear your ring and whisper i will be faithful. we will experience every twist of happiness and every aspect of sorrow.” why are we never bored of listening to such falsehoods? Every human being has the natural ability to lie. Everyone can cultivate deceptions and make them grow and the rest of us accept being fools and naive.

after many decades we got married, honey, wasn’t that the greatest betrayal? we became two strangers who were faithful to our lies and betrayals, you said, we were cold as we walked through unmoving time. my feelings were dead. i longed for the warmth of the wounds spilled from a screaming hurt heart, so i wrote a noisy love song.

my love, today i promise to be faithful! want me always and embrace my burning body as i long for my secret lover and harvest sweat at the peak of my desire. Then we will warm our breaths in obscene fantasies. Just like the night always mocks you, we will sprout dark dreams in the painful beating of time.
