About the Author:
Nuril Basri was born in a village near Tangerang, West Java, and raised as a in a staunchly Islamic community. Nuril has worked in a variety of positions—cashier, tutor, accounts manager, waiter, etc.—the combined experience of which has served to enrich his characters and settings. Author of a half dozen novels, four have been translated into Malaysian and two will soon appear in English: Enak (Yummy) and Bukan Perjaka (Not a Virgin), the latter of which moves in setting between a Muslim boarding house in Tangerang and a gay bar in Jakarta.
