Marah Rusli was born in Padang, West Sumatra, on August 7, 1889. August Activities at Lontar


On Sunday August 26, Lontar took part at the ‘Knowing How’ event organized by the British School in Jakarta (BSJ), primarily intended to provide orientation on what to do in Jakarta to new students enrolled at the school and their parents.  Along with some 15 organizations, Lontar was there to promote our books and activities. Profile of Indonesian Writers

This month Lontar once again produces a video documentary profiling seven Indonesian authors. The objective is to promote Indonesian authors in and out of the country. The documentary will feature English subtitles and screened on Lontar YouTube. Gallery>>


Upcoming Activities

Every Saturday at Lontar, ten researchers from the Ruang Perempuan dan Tulisan (Women’s Space and Writings) group will present the results of their research on ten Indonesian lesser-known women authors. The agenda for September can be seen at Jadwal Presentasi Pengkaji.
