Dewi Lestari (Bandung, January 20, 1976) Dewi studied Internasional Relations at Parahyangan University (Bandung). Dee, both her pen name and as she is popularly known, first came to public attention through her membership of the pop group “RSD”. Her novels include Supernova: The Knight, the Princess and the Falling Star (2001), Supernova: Akar (2002) and Supernova: Petir (2004). These three volumes together have sold more than 200,000 copies. Dee is also the author of two collections of short stories: Filosofi Kopi (2006), recognised as the Best Literary Work of 2006 by Tempo news magazine and Rectoverso (2008). Her recent work is a novel Perahu Kertas (Paper Boats, 2009). In 2008 she was recognized by Prestige magazine as “Writer of the Year” and both in 2009 and 2010 was listed by Globe Asia magazine as one of the 100 most influential women in Asia.
